Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to dress up?
Of course we would love to look out into the crowd and see everyone dressed up in ren faire costumes, we also understand it can be intimidating! If you choose not to dress up in costume, we request that you wear earth tones.
Where can I find ren faire themed costumes?
On the “Attire” tab, you’ll find a list of businesses from local ren faires that said they have online shops in the off-season (Fall & Winter.) However, if you feel inspired to go out this season, please utilize https://www.therenlist.com/ to locate a ren faire near you! Great ren faire outfits can also be found at thrift stores. Please try to support local and shop small for the occasion. We would rather you put something together from your closet than shop an entire wardrobe through Amazon. :)
Do I get a plus one?
While we would love to operate under a “the more the merrier” mentality, there is a maximum capacity for the venue, so if you do not receive a plus one on your formal invitation then we are not able to accommodate extra guests. Please fill out the RSVP form with plus one requests, and we will confirm these guests on the formal invitations sent out closer to the date.
Is the event family friendly/are kids allowed?
There will be children present as we have family and friends’ children coming, however, if you haven’t made arrangements with us already, and your little ones aren’t included on your invite, then we respectfully request that they stay home. A note for parents who will have children present: there will be alcohol present during the reception, so please make proper arrangements to ensure their safety. (There will be non-alcoholic options available as well!)
Are pets allowed?
Pets are not allowed.
What should I know if I want to stay the weekend?
Each cabin houses 4-8 people, we will do our best to make sure groups are together, but if there’s a large number of people choosing to stay the weekend, there is the chance for someone to be in your cabin you don’t know (we will do our best to make sure this doesn’t happen though!) The cabins are rustic, summer camp style cabins with twin bunk beds. You will need to provide your own sleeping bags/sheets/towels (unless you’ve made arrangements with us*) The bathrooms are communal bathrooms. This includes the showers if you choose to shower while there.
There will be food present, but currently, the only meal we are guaranteeing we will supply for the weekend is dinner the day of the wedding. You will have access to a full kitchen.
*This will likely only apply to those flying in from out of state. You know who you are.
Where do I park? Do I need a parking pass?
There will be 1-2 parking lots available for guests to use. You do not need to buy/provide a Discover Pass for parking while you’re parked at the retreat center.
What time should I arrive?
If you’re coming up for the whole weekend, please arrive later than 4:00 PM on Thursday. If you’re coming up just for the ceremony day of, please arrive at least 30 minutes before the ceremony begins so you have time to settle and sit.
